My 'not so lazy sundays' are usually spent at my work. Luckily, I am having a day off today, so I can spend some time on my schoolwork. I was determined to study my English today, but the fact that I being a bit hungover is not helping.. The focus is missing, so I started doing something I love: browsing through blogs.

Winter Is Coming

I love seasons. At the end of summer, I am longing for the snowy winter again while in winter, I can't wait for summer. At the moment, I am in the mood to grap my faux fur coat and go outside.

Unfortunately it's still a bit too warm for this, but since in the Netherlands (where I live) the weather hasn't been great the past couple of days, you could say that autumn has begun. Only one step till the true cold to go.

My affection of this magical season can be partly explained by my admiration for faux fur and leather.
The winter is the perfect time to be wearing anything that is either furry or leather like. Not only because it is super fashionable, it does a really good job in keeping you warm as well.

Nevertheless is the best thing about winter spending time with your relatives. The long cosy nights make you come together more than in any other season. You should benefit from this from the fullest.

Statement Pieces are Key

Maison Martin Margiela is well-known for its statement pieces. I intensely loved its MMM for H&M collection. Finally I had the opportunity to buy a design from them without going bankrupt...

Maison Martin Margiela is not only focusing on the women. They reentry designed some outfits for Kanye West as well! I think its absolutely great that a person with such influence is supporting this brand.

In the picture you can see another creation of theirs. It is a mask completely covered with diamonds. I guess you can call this a statement piece, can't you?

I must admit that I had to get used to this pair or trousers when I saw them online. This didn't hold me back to take the risk and buy them however. I thought that I should not be longer scared to try new things. Buying these pair of tartan trousers would be the first step. Although I had struggles with combining them, I think I can work with them now.

Lash Extensions

This week I got new lash extensions! I had them just before summer as well, but back then I was really fed up with them. I don't know the exact reason for this to be honest.. I can still remember that some lashes in particular really started to annoy me, because they were constantly out of place. I know this may sound a bit strange to you, they are all sort of problems that come with lash extensions!

I am blessed with dark and lengthy lashes (my lashes are about 13 mm). So I started to question myself why I would make the effort to put on my mascara every morning, since you wouldn't notice any difference.. I talked about this to my mum a few weeks ago, and she came up with the idea of getting lash extensions again. She told me that this made a considerable difference to my appearance. My mum has a history of giving fantastic advice, so I decided to give it another try. When I told my friends they also were instantly enthusiastic about it!

I am very happy with the end result and this look might be a keeper!

Best Choice Ever

My best choice ever was to buy tickets to the One Direction concert! Despite the fact that it will last till the 24th of June before I see the five guys in reality, I am excited already! I bet it will be worth the wait and the struggle to get in possession of these tickets. 

Guess I have something to look out for!

Added to the Closet

Last week, I did some shopping in Breda, a city situated in the south of the  Netherlands. I didn't need anything in particular, but I just wanted something new. I think you can all relate to this feeling! I hopped into the ZARA, my absolute number one place to shop in Breda, and I came across some pieces which I enormously liked. I had seen the jumpsuit before, I had even tried it on back then. I wasn't really sure whether to buy it or not, but I kept thinking about it. One lesson I have learned is when a piece of clothing keeps popping up into your mind, go out and buy it. I haven't regretted this decision ever since.

The top and the sweater are really simple. When I was in the queue to pay, I had already thought about an infinite lot of ways on how to combine those. The sweater is really warm and comfortable in winter and I can't wait to be wearing this top together with one of my faux fur cardigans.

Put A Ring On It

16 September was the big day, my god damn birthday!! I turned 17. Although being the birthday girl is always one of the best days in a year, 17 unfortunately isn't the most memorable age to become. At least it is a step closer to adulthood. I am counting the days already till I my 18th birthday, since the government is sewing me by adjusting the alcohol limit.. Guess after NYE I will have to wait for nine months again before I can legally have a mojito. Patience will in the end always be rewarded I hope!

Although my jewelry collection cannot be called scarce, a ring for everyday where was nowhere to be found in it. I have been looking everywhere to find a ring which suits every outfit and is still a bit of a statement. These two conditions seem very contrary, but I knew that the perfect ring for me would be out there.

When I went to pick a birthday present together with my grandmother, I finally set eyes to this gorgeous piece of silver. I tried it on and fortunately, it fitted perfectly (only one size was available). I am over the moon with my new ring and I haven't taken it of every since!

Anticipating

Fall 2013 hasn't even completely begun and in New York they are already speculating about the hottest spring trends again. Yes it is true, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is happening at this very moment. Designers are showing off their latest masterpieces and they sure get admiration from the fashion lovers in return. Unfortunately I do not have time to keep track of it all, however I really try to stay a up-to-date. I really want to show you the sets that I absolutely adored.

This dress was being shown at the show of Adeam. What I particularly fancy about this dress is the breeziness it expresses. The sets is flowing and breathing. The color is in my opinion perfectly chosen as well, the color is fierce and strong but on the other hand can be combined with anything. 

These two dresses by Diane Von Furstenberg caught my eye instantly. I find the print amazing. It looks a bit like animal skin, but it does not become trashy at all, which can happen when your where those prints. The last one again has this breeziness, just like the Adeam dress. I am hankering after wearing one of those dress with high heels this spring just as the model is wearing. 

So I know what my spring 2014 wardrobe will consist of; at least a few dresses with a light, breathing character. But before we start thinking about spring again, let us first survive the fall, which can be very enjoyable as well!

Small Changes, Big Differences

Lately, I have been really taking care of myself. At least, I tried to. Not only have I joined the gym again, also have I been tracking my eating habits. I have always had a bumpy relationship with eating healthy. Although summer 2014 is not around the corner yet, I have already started preparing for it. 

I still find it very difficult to keep up the good work though. Chocolate I must admit, is my achilles heel.  Especially when I get home from school, it is really difficult for me to keep my hands of the sweet stuff. 

However, I have tried to replace it with healthy alternatives such as fruit or vegetables. This is going really well, a few exceptions not taken into account.. 

When it comes to the gym, I haven't really found my way into that. Time is the limiting factor, which is probably the most utilized excuse ever.. I hope I will get more time (and a bit more motivation to be completely honest with you) in the future. The gym can be a blast, I just have to rediscover this! In the near future I think I will be able to spend more time working out. From that moment my motivation will come instantly. 

The most important thing is to be nice to your body, take good care of it and this will show on the outside! And you know what they say; 'Confidence Will Make You Happier Than Any Diet'

Madrid Wishlist

Sunday night my plane will be departing.. to Madrid! I will be going on an exchange with my fellow classmates. Before we will be meeting our exchange partners, we are going to visit Madrid for a couple of days. The planning is not very strict, we have a lot of free time. For me and my friends that is means an awful lot of shopping! 

There are some wonderful brands originated from Spain. I am talking about Zara, Mango, Bershka, Pull and Bear and many more. Those huge fashion chains are even better priced in l'Espagne, which is a huge plus! 

Apart from those massive multinationals, Madrid is also known for its great variety in small boutique. In those places you can find something really special and unique. 

I am really looking forward to it! Since I've known we would be going to Madrid I made countless of wishlists composing of musthaves. The two things that really stood out from the crowd were the cork sandals from Zara and the tiger bandeau bikini from Topshop. Although Topshop isn't Spanish (ofcourse it's British), I absolutely adore this bikini and I can't wait to show it off in summer!

Welcome Greenhorns!

I'd rather say this to myself, because I am complete new and unexperienced in blogging. My name is Jenthe and I live in a small village situated in the south of the Netherlands. I know the Netherlands is not the most interesting country to be settled in nowadays, but I actually enjoy living here! By means of Studded Treasures, I will try to show you what my life is like. Not only will I be talking about myself of course, I also will post whatever I am interested in or catches my eye.

In my opinion, blogging opens up your world. When I had a long day, the first thoughts that pop up in my mind are my unread blogpost that are waiting for me. I can spend hours, even days, scrolling through amazing outfits and impressive photographs.
